Gandy Digital has over 30 years of development.

1978 | 2012 Gandy Digital's ancestryGandy Digital has a long and proven track record of excellence with Grand Format Digital Printer manufacturing. From the early pioneering days and into the future, Gandy Digital is a global leader in the development of new large format inkjet printers. With over 30 years of experience, we use our expertise to advance the development of digital print. We strive to give smaller print shops accessibility, enabling them to compete with larger, high volume production houses.

Gandy Digital developments are expanding the boundaries on the digital inkjet printing (signage & display) markets. Gandy Digital is a dynamically driven company that employs a unique team of engineers. We 'think creatively' outside of the conventional box, and set the bench marks for far greater speeds and distances than our major competitors. This enables us to bring the newest developments to the market place in as early as 2 years in advance, and to pass these advantages on to the customer who invests in a Gandy Digital product.

We believe there are still many opportunities that can be developed with the newest technologies. We don't see hurdles, only a 'step' which makes Gandy Digital stand out....we set the pace

Now is the 'Time for Change' 2010

Due for release in the fall of 2010

2010 | The dawn of the next gener8tion... is here
The next generation of Grand Format Digital Printers will be due for release in the Fall of 2010 at SGIA in Las Vegas. The new Pred8tor is a hybrid UV flatbed and roll to roll machine. The Pred8tor has been designed from the ground up, with new software, GUI controls and print head technology.

The Pred8tor will print on a 4' x 8' sheet of flat media at never before seen speeds in this class and at a far superior print quality not yet attained by the older generation of printers. The Pred8tor is able to produce these speeds and quality because of new print head technology, streamlined algorithms and having total control of all processes, from the initial design to the finished assembly; unlike the majority of other Grand Format Digital Printers on the market today.

We know our machines from the inside out. With our ancestry and proven track record of consistently being at the forefront of the Large Format Digital Print Industry, you'll want to see for yourself why we lead the way.

Vinyl production

1985 | Cast vinyl production
SignTech took the approach 'if you want it right, then you need full control over quality control'. In 1985, SignTech began polyester knitting and cast vinyl production to manufacture Flexface signage materials. After making the polyester scrim, it was then cast on to a vinyl line to make Flexface. This was used to decorate with screen printing and heat transfer methods.

Singage roller coating application
Large signage application was now made possible

1984 | Roller coating & Screen printing signage

First heat transfer machines produced 1982

1982 | Heat transfer
In 1982, the heat transfer process for the signage business was developed. This enabled a thin, even coat of ink to be applied to the Flexface surface for decorating purposes. This process made it possible to apply dry ink to a vinyl surface. These heat transfer machines were then designed and made in Canada. Over 300 units sold worldwide over the next 10 years.

In conjunction with Flexface (flexible sign face material), and the heat transfer press, we also developed and manufactured the transfer paper called 'Plastiprint', which was a coating of ink on transfer paper.

FlexFace Signage application invented 1980

1978 | SignTech was formedIn 1978, SignTech was established in Canada, and began with a patented extrusion hinging system for assembling sign cabinets. SignTech also invented a patented tension system for flexible sign face materials, that became a standard in the industry.
As a patented system, this was sold worldwide with great success.

1980 | Flexface Invented

In 1980 SignTech also invented 'Flexface' a flexible reinforced vinyl film for sign faces, we not only had to knit the polyester fiber together but also make the first vinyl cast line to inbed the fabric. This made the surface smooth to print on. This allowed sign faces to become large in size with no blowout's as the Flexface was tentioned on the sign cabinet like a drum.
